Travel retail highlights

Best of British

As part of its centenary celebrations, British Airways has partnered with Tourvest Retail Services to launch a delightful range of limited edition products celebrating the airline’s heritage.

The new offerings are the result of collaborations with boutique UK food, drink and retail brands.

Highlights include a world-first gin that has been engineered to compensate for altitude ‘taste blindness’, produced by Edinburgh-based gin distillers Pickering’s. The brand has created a ten-botanical blend which will be available on all short-haul flights and through BA’s High Life shop.

Chapel Down’s 2018 Bacchus, a white wine from the Kent countryside, has been added to the inflight menu while a handcrafted teddy bear from heritage bear-makers Merrythought will retail onboard.

A heart-shaped locket by Welsh jeweller Clogau contains rare Welsh gold and is limited to only 100 pieces, while a limited-edition Mulberry bag and scarf are also available.

British Airways and Tourvest said they “searched the length of the country” to find intriguing brands to partner with, and the resulting collection certainly does not disappoint.

Passengers can buy the Centenary Gin as part of a limited-edition triple ‘Gin Flight’ miniature gift pack, sold on all long-haul and non-EU flights through the BA High Life shop.

Just 100 heart-shaped lockets, containing Welsh gold, have been produced for the special promotion.

The limited-edition Mulberry Bayswatertote in ruby red.

The collectible bear has been named Jarvis, after BA’s late museum curator, Paul Jarvis.
