The travel retail industry’s first Podcast service is launched. The Moodie Podcast highlights some of the industry’s big issues and stories in a snappy audio format.

The company hosts a charity fund-raising dinner in Hong Kong on behalf of cleft charity Smile Train.
22 November 2008
The inaugural Miles for Smiles walk/run is held in Dubai to raise funds for Smile Train; the event raises more than US$200,000
3 February 2010
‘Hand in Hand for Haiti’, a major travel retail industry initiative to assist the reconstruction of Haiti following a catastrophic earthquake, is launched. It was initially a collaboration between DFS Group, The Estée Lauder Companies and The Moodie Report. Within weeks it had attracted unprecedented support from the travel retail community, going on to become the sector’s biggest-ever fund-raising project.
January 2011
The first Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference & Awards is held in Manchester. After being held in Dallas in 2019, and then virtually during COVID, it returns as an in-person event in 2023. Watch this space.
4-7 March 2011
All over the world runners take part in the first Moodie Multi-National Marathon to raise funds for Hand in Hand for Haiti; a second, similarly successful event takes place in June 2012.

The first issue of The Moodie Report e-Zine is published, representing a first for travel retail publishing in embracing the full multimedia spectrum.
