Against the backdrop of the terrible conflict unfolding in Ukraine, a reminder from MSC Cruises of the importance of friendship and peace in February 2022. In the white felpas onboard MSC Orchestra are Galyna from Ukraine and Krispy from Russia, with white signifying peace and unity.
What better way to say Kia ora (colloquially ‘Good day’ in Māori but more literally ‘be well/healthy’) to travellers from around the world than with a giant welcome sign painted at the end of the runway? That’s what Christchurch Airport did to mark New Zealand’s lifting of its international travel ban on 1 May this year.
Hong Kong International Airport and all connected with it have had a pretty miserable time of it during the COVID-19 era. But Airport Authority Hong Kong has continued to invest in the consumer experience, despite passenger numbers remaining at a fraction of 2019 levels. And there is no better evidence of that than the spectacular images of new vibrant multimedia installations in Terminal 1 that we featured in August. This one shows the digital screen at what is now known as the Crystal Elevator displaying video and images that capture the essence of Hong Kong.
