PERFECT PARTNERS

“A symbol of 20 years of great collaboration”

In a testament to L’Oréal Groupe and China Duty Free Group’s deepening partnership, the partners have opened 19 dazzling new boutiques at the cdf Haikou megastore.

L’Oréal Travel Retail Asia Pacific has partnered with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) to open 19 new boutiques at the cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Hainan.

Each store is a showcase for L’Oréal Groupe’s commitments to invent the beauty of tomorrow and create more sustainable and ethical beauty, fragrance, haircare and wellbeing products.

The newly opened stores embrace L’Oréal’s full portfolio of beauty brands. The wide-ranging offer includes stores from Armani Beauty, Atelier Cologne, Biotherm, Helena Rubinstein, Kérastase, Kiehl’s, Lancôme, La Roche-Posay, L’Oréal Paris, Maison Margiela, Prada Beauty, Ralph Lauren, Shu Uemura, SkinCeuticals, Urban Decay, Valentino beauty, Vichy, Viktor & Rolf and YSL Beauté.

Prada Paradoxe, the latest fragrance launch from Prada Beauty, is being showcased via a special animation at the atrium of the complex and with a striking outdoor installation.

Beauty tech to the fore

L’Oréal Groupe’s boutiques at the cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex offer the company’s latest beauty tech innovations and world-class retail expressions.

These include tech-driven skincare, makeup and haircare consultation services. These are followed by personalised treatments offered in professional skincare cabins from the Lancôme, Helena Rubinstein, SkinCeuticals and Armani Beauty brands.

A wide range of leading beauty tech services are offered including the Lancôme SkinScreen, SkinCeuticals SkinScope, L’Oréal Paris Science Table, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Neuro Fragrance Consultation and Kérastase’s Kérascan.

The Lancôme SkinScreen uses AI algorithms to measure skin health against 13 parameters; while the SkinCeuticals SkinScope analyses the skin in daylight and UV light to reveal sun damage.

The L’Oréal Paris Science Table is a digitally-driven product discovery tool that highlights the efficacy of L’Oréal Paris products, while the YSL Neuro Fragrance Consultation uses a neurotransmitter to measure brain activity and determine a user’s favourite scent.

The Kérastase’s Kérascan is an in-depth haircare diagnosis tool that can analyse hair health from scalp to root. Salon professional haircare brand Kérastase is also offering a special blow dry pop-up at the complex.

All the boutiques have been integrated with CDFG’s Scan and Purchase programme, which enables shoppers to simply scan a product to purchase it. Through this programme CDFG hopes to drive conversion and deliver a seamless purchase experience with reduced waiting times.

“The cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex is a symbol of our 20 years of great collaboration. We are proud to showcase the best of beauty with our 19 brand flagship boutiques welcoming Chinese travellers to live the exclusive L’Oréal experience, best-in-class retail expressions, best-in-beauty tech innovation, excellent service and engagement, with sustainability at its heart.”

Sustainability at its heart

The cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex is the first mall in China to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification, which means that all stores were constructed using eco-certified and recyclable materials.

All L’Oréal boutiques at the complex follow the company’s L’Oréal for the Future sustainability roadmap. Six L’Oréal Groupe brands in the complex have also applied for LEED Certification, with Gold Label Certification expected for Lancôme, Kiehl’s, Helena Rubinstein, YSL Beauté, Armani Beauty and Shu Uemura, the company said.

All pop-ups and future animations will be built adhering to L’Oréal Groupe’s eco-design principles which specify the use of certified recycled FSC, PESC materials that are lightweight and easily disassembled for reuse.

A deepening partnership

Commenting on the flurry of new openings from L’Oréal Groupe, then-China Duty Free Group President (now Vice Chairman) Charles Chen said: “With the cdf Haikou International Duty Free shopping complex, CDFG’s vision is to build a shopping destination that will set a new benchmark for travel retail.

“We are delighted with the 19 outstanding and amazing beauty boutiques, services and experiences that L’Oréal has designed for our complex. These boutiques will certainly give our travellers many reasons to visit and repeat.”

“As L’Oréal Travel Retail and China Duty Free Group, we share the same passion to provide Beauty for All Travellers,” added L’Oréal Travel Retail President Vincent Boinay.

(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, LEED)

(L’Oréal for the Future)可持续发展路线图。
