A highlights review of the sunglasses offer at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo, and the Sunglasses Workshop revisited.

Bravo Fashion

Bravo Fashion displayed its Diamond & Pearl, Logo and Silver Sparkle Collections at its Virtual Stand, underlining the importance of ‘innovation, technology and true diversification’ within the sunglasses category. Visitors to Bravo Fashion’s Virtual Stand received a special brand introduction by the brand’s man of passion, Founder Terry Smith.

Kering Eyewear

Kering Eyewear — which has recently secured eyewear agreements with luxury fashion houses Chloé and Dunhill — thrust its new and established partnerships into the front line at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo.

Luxottica

With its digital innovations to the fore, Luxottica Group showcased its latest creations and campaigns at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo. Visitors can still discover the Smart Shopper platform, Discover the World in a New Light, Virtual Try-On, Luxottica University Digital Platform, and STARS and Sunglass Hut business models during the Expo’s 30-day encore period.

Luxottica’s Smart Shopper and Virtual Try-On technology is also on view at the Engagement Lounge. Luxottica described the virtual event as “a special occasion to let our customers explore and experience Luxottica’s digital-first initiatives, new launches on the iconic brands, and innovative tools to enhance the eyewear category.”

Marchon

Marchon exhibited the power of its premium eyewear portfolio at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo. Brands include Calvin Klein, Lanvin, Liu-Jo, Columbia, Longchamp, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marni, DKNY, MCM, Nautica, Dragon, Karl Lagerfeld, Salvatore Ferragamo, Lacoste and Victoria Beckham — with a focus too on Nike’s new Windshield Elite range.

Rodenstock

Rodenstock debuted its Porsche Design Iconics range and highlighted its new Vision Drive polarised lens technology at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo. The Vision Drive lenses feature an innovative combination of contrast enhancing technology and high-tech polarising filters. They are divided into three lines: Polarised, Polarised XTR and Photochromic.

Sunglasses Workshop: One channel, one focus: category recovery

The sunglasses category was the subject of an illuminating Knowledge Hub session during the Virtual Travel Retail Expo, featuring contributions from four leading travel retailers and news of a programme to improve the measurement of the sector’s performance.
