TFWA World Exhibition preview
“A show that will set new standards” – TFWA President delivers upbeat message on eve of Cannes 2023
Erik Juul-Mortensen hails the further expansion of the association’s flagship event, which takes place next week in Cannes.
Tax Free World Association (TFWA) President Erik Juul-Mortensen has delivered an upbeat message ahead of TFWA World Exhibition on 1-5 October, with over 400 exhibitors signed up alongside visitors from around the world.
Juul-Mortensen said: “Boasting the participation of some of the most prominent names in the industry, TFWA World Exhibition & Conference is this year certain to further cement its status as the leading event in the duty free and travel retail calendar. We will be welcoming world-famous brands and many regular exhibitors along with 88 new and returning participants across all product categories.
Erik Juul-Mortensen: Record levels of exhibition space for the Cannes show
“In 2023, we have even more fabulous space to enjoy, including the newly added Majestic Beach Village, and the exhibition will span more than 25,000sq m, which is a record for this event. Early indications are that the industry has lost none of its enthusiasm for joining us in Cannes, and we’re also expecting visitor numbers to reach or even exceed 2019 levels.
“With such a remarkable line-up of participants, operators attending with larger delegations than ever and sparked by the energy that is unique to this event, this will be a show that will set new standards in the industry.”
The event will feature 88 new and returning participants across categories
Key visitor groups attending include China Duty Free Group, Dufry, Gebr. Heinemann, Duty Free Americas, Heathrow Airport, Lagardère Travel Retail, The Shilla Duty Free, Changi Airport Group and Lotte Duty Free.
Among additions to the event this year are an extension to the Ambassadors Village, and a new Majestic Beach Village.
TFWA will see the return of its i.lab – an ideas hub that shines a spotlight on innovative ways to engage the travelling consumer. It will have a more central location within the Palais des Festivals and the dedicated space will feature a lounge where participants can network and promote their ideas. TFWA i.lab will also include a pitching stage complete with audio/visual presentation screens.
The exhibition area will feature 15 exhibiting companies and all TFWA i.lab participants will be featured in the Discovery section of the TFWA 365 platform.
