Purity and rarity

With a whisky collection derived from one cask and with only a few hundred bottles available, it may not simply be marketing hyperbole when Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail announces “the ultimate collector’s item”.

The Glenlivet Single Cask Edition is a collection of ten “rare, pure and unique” single cask malt whiskies bottled at cask strength, individually numbered and exclusive to global travel retail.

Special editions have been created for Istanbul, Heathrow, Gatwick and Taoyuan (Taipei) airports, with bespoke messaging on the bottle and outer box labelling emphasising the liquid’s exclusivity. A number of bottles will be available in the USA, Hong Kong, China and Singapore from the autumn.

Pernod Ricard said the Single Cask Edition pays tribute to The Glenlivet’s heritage and expertise. “Every cask is unique and can never be replicated, resulting in a purity, rarity and exquisite quality that attracts connoisseurs and collectors around the world.”

The Glenlivet Single Cask Edition prices range from US$350 to US$500.
