Magical moments

These images capture the vibrancy and variety of the TFWA World Exhibition and Conference 2018 – from a bustling exhibition hall and the lively discussions of the conference and workshops to a diverse social programme.

Steps forward: The industry’s biggest event attracted a strong attendance, including +4% more retailers.

After hours: The Scene at Plage du Palais des Festivals allowed attendees to relax and unwind.

Spectacular scenery: The Opening Cocktail was held in glamorous surroundings at the Carlton Beach.

Bustling with activity: Exhibition floor space increased to 22,759sq m, up from 22,607sq m last year.

Sun and smiles: Cannes, on the French Riviera, always offers a spectacular setting for the event.

Completing the circle: Le Premium Evening closed off the social events programme, with 809 guests attending a performance from Broadway stars The Illusionists and cuisine from renowned chef Romain Gandolphe.

Key discussions: The number of people representing duty free & travel retail operators (buyers) rose by +4%, while the number of travel retail companies attending climbed by +6%.

High five: The golf tournament, held in partnership with Qatar Duty Free and sponsored by Dr Irena Eris, American Crew and WanderSafe, saw 80 keen golfers compete at the Royal Mougins Golf Club.

The number of exhibitors grew slightly from 514 in 2017 to 516, across 496 stands compared with 490 last year.

Making waves: 40 sailing enthusiasts took part in the annual regatta, sponsored by Paul & Shark.

Focus on innovation: The TFWA Digital Village housed 32 exhibitors and 1,349 visitors passed through the doors.

Stretched to their limits: 41 people joined two yoga sessions sponsored by Rituals.

Out of the blocks: The Opening Cocktail saw a total of 1,664 guests mark the start of the conference and exhibition.

The TFWA Charity Run saw 99 runners, joggers and walkers complete a course along La Croisette to raise vital funds for local charity SAMU Social of Cannes.

Traditional game: 100 players entered the pétanque tournament.
