Save the Sea

Italian artist Annarita Serra aims to highlight the devastating effects of pollution on our oceans and other environmental issues in her art. Remarkably, this spectacular artwork, The Venus, was created using waste materials that have been dumped into the sea.

Italian fashion house Paul & Shark says it will present a challenge to the artist at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, as part of its own Save the Sea project. Save the Sea aims to raise awareness of the dumping of solid waste into the ocean, which is one of the root causes of pollution ruining our oceans.

The results of the challenge will be revealed on Wednesday 3 October in what promises to be one of the most spectacular, and commendable, unveilings at Cannes.

The Venus, 2012: Annarita Serra’s artworks are created using waste materials that have been dumped into the sea.

Through her work, Italian artist Annarita Serra hopes to highlight the dangerous effects of pollution on our oceans.
