Designed by Aston Martin Series 2 is the second release of one of the most memorable British collaborations in recent memory. The global travel retail-exclusive range brings together Bowmore, one of the world’s great Scotch whisky houses and Aston Martin, a renowned even revered luxury car brand, underlining both partners’ shared values of quality, style and purity of design.

The limited-edition release follows the success of the inaugural launch in 2021, which was the subject of a striking Moodie Davitt Spotlight Series eZine. New Designed by Aston Martin editions will be released annually, creating a sense of excitement for aficionados of both brands.

The second collection tells a new visual story, highlighting three different Aston Martin cars that were pivotal to the heritage of the famed car company. It celebrates the partnership between the two houses and the synergy between the worlds of single malt whiskies and luxury motor cars.

In the new series, the Bowmore 10, 15 and 18 Year Old single malts inspired Aston Martin’s design experts to choose car models whose stories aligned with the distinctive characteristic of the whiskies. The collaborative result? Three new and evocative expressions that will undoubtedly delight both whisky afficionados and novices alike.

The global travel retail-exclusive range went on sale this month. Bowmore 10 Years Old is priced at RRP US$59; the Bowmore 15 Years Old at RRP US$80 and the Bowmore 18 Years Old RRP US$121.

The range is available in leading travel retail stores globally and supported by a series of engaging activations in key locations including London, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Taiwan and Hainan.

Bowmore 10 Years Old

Paired with the Aston Martin 1922 GP TT2

The Bowmore 10 Year Old has been paired with the Aston Martin 1922 GP TT2, telling a fascinating story of vision and strength of character. The 1922 GP TT2 was designed specifically for the French Grand Prix in 1922 and reflects the commitment and vigour of Aston Martin, which is mirrored by the depth and flavour of the 10 Year Old.

The GP TT2, which went on to shape Aston Martin’s racing heritage, finds its perfect match with the Bowmore 10 Year Old. The single malt offers intense, bold flavours by blending signature peat smoke notes with the spice of sherry oak casks.

Tasting notes

Rich and intense with a dark amber hue, the Bowmore 10 Year Old has a 40% ABV with sun-dried fruits, baked Seville orange and toasted maple notes on the nose. On the palate, it offers bold flavours of sultanas and dark fruit oils, with a finish of spices and peat-smoked walnuts.

Bowmore 15 Years Old

Paired with the Aston Martin AM V8

A shared refinement and elegance unites the Bowmore 15 Year Old and Aston Martin AM V8.

The latter represents a definitive chapter in the Aston Martin design universe, capturing the elegant lines, shapes and distinctive design details that characterise the classic Aston Martin car. The Bowmore 15 Year Old, a complex and elegant blend, is a perfect match.

Crafted from first-fill bourbon casks and hogsheads, the 15 Year Old boasts a refined and opulent character, with a delicate sweetness reminiscent of fresh-baked pastries.

Tasting notes

An alluring golden barley hue leads to delicious Sicilian desserts, honey, Amalfi lemon and sweet tobacco leaf notes on the nose. Silky citrus, salty-sweet vanilla and honeycomb then come together on the palate, before a lingering finish of peat smoke, sweet almond and lemon.

Bowmore 18 Years Old

Paired with the Aston Martin 1959 DBR4

While the Bowmore 18 Year Old and Aston Martin 1959 DBR4 may come from contrasting worlds, the two are united by the commitment of their craftsmen to optimal performance.

The DBR4 captures Aston Martin’s bold ambition to enter the thrilling world o f Formula One motor racing, forever making a mark in Aston Martin’s competitive legacy. The Bowmore 18 Year Old is an indulgent and deeply complex single malt.

The rare blend exudes a refined maturity thanks to its time ageing in oloroso and PX sherry casks.

Tasting notes

The deepest sunset hues give the Bowmore 18 Year Old an alluring visual appeal. On the nose, this masterfully executed single malt offers rich dark chocolate, treacle toffee and date oil aromas. On the palate, a burst of bitter-sweet orange peel and peat-smoked roasted coffee come to the fore. Finally, velvet mocha and macadamia nut chocolates give the whisky a creamy, long-lasting finish.
