DESIGNED BY ASTON MARTIN

A union of two great British houses

Designed by Aston Martin is the sophomore release of one of the most memorable British collaborations in recent memory. The global travel retail-exclusive range brings together Bowmore, one of the world’s greatest Scotch whisky houses and Aston Martin, one of the most renowned luxury car brands, underlining both partners’ shared values of quality, style and purity of design.

The limited edition release follows the success of the inaugural launch in 2021, which was the subject of a striking Moodie Davitt Spotlight Series eZine. New Designed by Aston Martin editions will be released annually, creating a sense of excitement for fans of both brands.

The sophomore collection tells a new visual story, highlighting three different Aston Martin cars that were pivotal to the heritage of the famed car company. It celebrates the partnership between the two houses and the synergy between the worlds of single malt whiskies and luxury cars.

Commenting on the exceptional collaboration, Bowmore Global Travel Retail Brand Director Manuel González says: “We’re delighted to unveil the second in our striking Designed by Aston Martin range exclusively in global travel retail and once again, unite our exceptional exclusive travel retail whiskies with the incredible talent of Aston Martin’s design team.

“Following on from the success of the first in the Series, we know that this collaboration appeals to our consumers passing through the global travel retail channel and gives them a reason to engage and discover everything that is magical about Bowmore.”

That sentiment is echoed by Aston Martin Lagonda Head of Partnership Cathal Loughnane who adds: “As an ultra-luxury brand, Aston Martin is passionate about collaborating with artisans and designers from other disciplines to create special products that reflect our brand values and ethos. We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Bowmore and showcasing some of our iconic models through this unique collection of whiskies.”

In the new series, the Bowmore 10, 15 and 18 Year Old single malts inspired Aston Martin’s design experts to choose new car designs, whose stories aligned with the distinctive characteristic of the whiskies. The result? Three new, evocative expressions that will undoubtedly delight both whisky afficionados and novices alike.

The global travel retail exclusive range went on sale this month. Bowmore 10 Years Old is priced at RRP US$59; the Bowmore 15 Years Old is RRP US$80 and the Bowmore 18 Years Old at RRP US$121.

The exceptional range is available in leading airport outlets in global travel retail and supported by a series of breath-taking activations in key airport locations including London, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Taiwan and Hainan.

Bowmore 10 Years Old

Paired with the Aston Martin 1922 GP TT2

The Bowmore 10 Year Old has been paired with the Aston Martin 1922 GP ‘TT2,’ telling a fascinating story of vision and strength of character.

The 1922 GP TT2 was designed specifically for the French Grand Prix in 1922 and reflects the commitment and vigour of Aston Martin, which is mirrored by the depth and flavour of the 10 Year Old.

The race car, which went on to shape Aston Martin’s racing heritage, meets its perfect match with the Bowmore 10 Year Old. The single malt offers intense, bold flavours by blending signature peat smoke notes with the spice of Sherry Oak casks.

Tasting notes

Rich and intense with a dark amber hue, the Bowmore 10 Year Old has a 40% ABV with sun-dried fruits, baked Seville orange and toasted maple notes on the nose. On the palate, it offers bold flavours or sultanas and dark fruit oils, with a finish of spices and peat-smoked walnuts.

Bowmore 15 Years Old

Paired with the Aston Martin AM V8

A shared refinement and elegance unites the Bowmore 15 Year Old and Aston Martin AM V8.

The latter represents a definitive chapter in the Aston Martin design universe, capturing the elegant lines, shapes and distinctive design details that characterise the proverbial classic Aston Martin car. The Bowmore 15 Year Old, a truly complex and elegant blend, is its perfect match.

Crafted from first-fill bourbon casks and hogsheads, the 15 Year Old boasts a refined and opulent character, with a delicate sweetness reminiscent of fresh-baked pastries.

Tasting notes

An alluring golden barley hue leads to delicious Sicilian desserts, honey, Amalfi lemon and sweet tobacco leaf notes on the nose. Silky citrus, salty-sweet vanilla and honeycomb then come together on the palate, before a lingering finish of peat smoke, sweet almond and lemon.

Bowmore 18 Years Old

Paired with the Aston Martin 1959 DBR4

While the Bowmore 18 Year Old and Aston Martin 1959 DBR4 may come from contrasting worlds, the two are united by their commitment to optimal performance.

The DBR4 captures Aston Martin’s bold ambition to enter the thrilling Formula One motor racing competition, forever making a mark in Aston Martin’s competitive legacy. On the other hand, the Bowmore 18 Year Old is an indulgent and deeply complex single malt.

The rare blend exudes a refined maturity thanks to its time ageing in Oloroso and PX Sherry casks.

Tasting notes

The deepest sunset hues give the Bowmore 18 Year Old an alluring visual appeal. On the nose, this masterfully executed single malt offers rich dark chocolate, treacle toffee and ate oil aromas. On the palate, a burst of bitter-sweet orange peel and peat-smoked roasted coffee come to the fore. Finally, velvet mocha and macadamia nut chocolates give the whisky a creamy, long-lasting finish.
