Bringing the world to bloom

Lancôme Travel Retail Asia Pacific partnered with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) to host the sustainable Absolue Perpetual Rose pop-up at the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Haitang Bay throughout March. The pop-up was driven by Lancôme’s ‘Caring Together for a Happier Tomorrow’ global sustainability programme and, in particular, its ‘Bring the World to bloom’ biodiversity pillar. Commenting on the return of the Lancôme Absolue pop-up to the CDF Mall, China Duty Free Group General Manager of Perfume & Cosmetics Division Grace Wang said: “We are delighted to partner with Lancôme Travel Retail again to see the return of its sustainability activation at the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex. The immersive shopping experience exemplifies our joint commitment to premium sustainability.”

Caring Together for a Happier Tomorrow: A blushing rose garden is the pop-up’s stand-out feature. It showcases the skin-renewing power of the Lancôme Perpetual Rose.

Lancôme Travel Retail Asia Pacific partnered with CDFG in March and December. 2021, as well as December, 2019 to host sustainable pop-ups showcasing the Absolue Soft Cream at the CDF Mall. One of the animation’s key features was a striking rose garden, sculpted to form Lancôme’s signature rose logo. The rose garden offered an elegant photo opportunity for shoppers at the CDF Mall. For each photo shared on social media between 1-29 March, Lancôme committed to planting a rose in the Domain de la Rose in the South of France. The rose garden highlighted the skin-revitalising power of the perpetual rose, the core ingredient of the Lancôme Absolue Soft Cream. The animation put special emphasis on Lancôme’s sustainable and biodiversity-conservation initiatives through engaging, educational elements. Shoppers discovered the innovative eco-extraction process used to create the brand’s hero Absolue Soft Cream. They also learned about Lancôme’s rose harvesting process at dawn, which maintains the potency of the flower, while using less water and reducing bio-waste.

A rose by any other name: The roses are shaped to form the silhouette of Lancôme’ s signature rose emblem

To commemorate their visit, shoppers were also given perpetual rose seeds to take home so they could grow their own Lancôme rose gardens. In line with Lancôme’s commitment to using recyclable, refillable or rechargeable packaging, the Absolue Soft Cream Jar has been modified into a rechargeable format, which can be refilled via a dedicated capsule system. “We are pleased to collaborate with China Duty Free Group to create such a purpose-driven journey in Hainan,” added Lancôme Travel Retail Asia Pacific General Manager Stevie Wong. “This Absolue perpetual rose pop-up is a perfect example of how we constantly push our boundaries to reinforce our commitment in formulating a more sustainable future.”

Perpetual Rose Seeds and a sample of the Absolue Soft Cream were offered to shoppers as exclusive souvenirs from the pop-up

The pop-up marked the return of Lancôme’s sustainable Absolue Rose pop-up at the CDF Mall, deepening the partnership between L’Oréal Travel Retail Asia Pacific and China Duty Free Group
