Talking Trinity in Singapore

Welcome to this special review of The Trinity Forum 2022, in which we capture the highlights of an inspiring two days at the world’s most influential airport commercial revenues conference.

This year’s Trinity Forum – held in Singapore on 1-2 November – was one of the most memorable since the first event in 2003. After a three-year absence, these two days were an opportunity to celebrate the return of the airport world’s most influential commercial revenues conference. But they were much more than that.

This emotive video, shown as the event opened, captured the Trinity spirit down the years

The spirit of collaboration, the candid discussion of key themes facing our sector ranging from sustainability to digitalisation to supply chain to staffing and the exploration of how we take the next steps forward, helped banish many of the blues of the pandemic period, even as its impact persists for many of our businesses.

ACI World Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira addresses a packed audience on the opening day as The Trinity Forum makes a triumphant return after three years

Travel is a celebration of the human search for discovery and learning. And travel retail should amplify that. At a reborn Trinity Forum, we looked at how we should reshape the sector in a world itself fundamentally reshaped. We spoke not just about revival but about evolution, and how to achieve that in a sustainable, progressive, profitable manner. And we spoke about renewing the spirit of mutual understanding that lies at the heart of the Trinity concept.

As we said when introducing the event on day one, that Trinity flame, one based on the warmth and spark of partnership and of challenging the status quo, may have been dimmed during the crisis but it never went out. It was good to be back.

Please enjoy this special review. We thank all of our speakers, sponsors, our hosts at Changi Airport Group and our partners at ACI World and ACI Asia-Pacific for their continuing support.

‘Proceed with confidence’ – a message from China Duty Free Group President Charles Chen about the China market carried global resonance
