Spreading the Nutella message

Ferrero is celebrating World Nutella Day, which took place this week (5 February), with a homepage makeover of The Moodie Davitt Report.

World Nutella Day was created in 2007 by blogger Sara Rosso, who wanted to share her love of the famous spread with fellow fans. Since the first fan-created day, millions of Nutella enthusiasts use the occasion to exchange messages about the chocolate hazelnut spread. To join the celebrations this year, Ferrero is asking people to use the hashtag #WorldNutellaDay on social media, tag @NutellaDay on Twitter and check out the official Facebook page.

Over recent years, Ferrero has reimagined the Nutella brand experience to extend it to products for on-the-go consumption and Nutella cafés.

In travel retail, the brand has enjoyed double-digit sales growth over the last year, driven partly by the introduction of Nutella B-ready, a travel retail exclusive line.

Ferrero has also developed a gifting range for Nutella, including the Message Gift Boxes. These boxes open to reveal a 350g jar of the spread featuring a message. The first two messages in the range – ‘I love you’ and ‘For you’ – launched two years ago. In light of their success, said Ferrero, a new jar with the message, ‘Smile’, was introduced this winter.

Spreading happiness: A third addition to the Gift Box range has been added this winter
