A journey of delight
Visitors to T Galleria Beauty by DFS Hong Kong, Causeway Bay were met by an unexpected sight this month – a larger-than-life Crème de la Mer jar.
It was part of an installation and exhibition that celebrated the “transformative” moisturiser and took an immersive look at skincare brand La Mer.
The jar was making its debut in Asia and at five metres high it is the world’s largest, La Mer said.
An exhibition that ran between 1 and 10 March allowed travellers to take a behind-the-scenes look at La Mer, with Crème de la Mer at the heart of the story.
It certainly made for an immersive and memorable experience – guests stepped into the giant jar, where they entered an “oceanic realm” that represented the world of La Mer through the sounds of the sea and the soft glow of underwater lighting.
The journey continued through five moisture textures – Rich, Soft, Sheer, Balanced, and Cool – with each intended to represent one of the brand’s moisturisers through sensory stimulation.
Completing the experience, the activation also featured a Skincolor de la Mer masterclass with renowned Taiwanese makeup artist Perry Liu and a Crème de la Mer wall where photos could be taken and then shared on social media.
