CDFG’s new showcase for luxury in Hainan

China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has been seeking new ways to deliver consumer experiences and personalised services as it strengthens its partnerships with brand owners across categories. Its latest eye-catching programme to support the luxury goods sector is the inaugural Handbag Festival, which launched at several key travel retail locations in Hainan Island on 20 August, and runs until 30 September. The festival showcases 35 brands at Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex, Haikou Meilan Airport Duty Free Shop and Haikou Downtown Duty Free Shop. Each day during the Festival a different brand has the opportunity to allow consumers experience its exclusive services, while well-known handbags influencer Mr. Bags visited the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex for Grand Opening day in August and shared his recommendations for products.

CDFG said that relevant videos from the opening event were shared online and well received, “further demonstrating to consumers the powerful strength of CDFG in the field of luxury brand cooperation”. CDFG and brand partners developed a range of activities, giveaways and services to boost awareness of the campaign. These include map books, the chance to enter a lucky draw and to accumulate reward points through a membership card. If a shopper purchases beyond a certain amount, they can enjoy customised services from brand owners, including learning about the craft of handbag making from a specialist.
