Issue 195

August 2016

In this edition we explained and investigated the daigou phenomenon and how the related booming popularity of ecommerce in China would potentially affect travel retail. As we reported in our commentary, “the retail rule-book is being torn up” posing big questions to travel retailers about how they engage with Chinese consumers overseas.

Issue 200

October 2016

Issue 200 represented a landmark edition for a landmark publication, with a cover story that was one of our best to date. We brought readers a comprehensive pictorial report on the Grand Opening of T Fondaco dei Tedeschi by DFS – one of the defining moments in the LVMH & Robert Miller-owned travel retailer’s history – conveying the majesty and splendour of this modern-day Merchant of Venice, and the rebirth of a cultural icon in the city of Venice.

Issue 208

February 2017

The Moodies digital and social media awards have become a barometer of excellence in travel retail since their launch in 2012. Our annual special this year (as in others) dedicated generous space to the innovation and ambition embraced by players across the industry, showcasing best practice in engagement with the travelling consumer.

June 2018

In June 2018 we presented a relaunched eZine, dubbed ‘Travel Retail’s Lookbook’. The goal was to pioneer a new way of looking at the travel retail industry. Instead of recreating a print magazine, we fully embraced the power and potential of the digital platform. That meant using a platform that did (and continues to do) justice to the most spectacular images and videos from across the industry, with a more accessible and expansive way of engaging with our features and columns. We believe the eZine and its updated technology has helped bring travel retail compellingly to life over the past three years.
