Year in Review

People of the Year

Our People of the Year selection for 2020 breaks from the usual tradition of singling out individual sector leaders. Instead we cast the spotlight on the unsung heroes of the industry, the front line workers across airports, airlines, cruise ships and other channels, who kept the industry alive when most of the world stopped travelling.

Each year since our founding in 2002 The Moodie Davitt Report has recognised those individuals who by their deeds, attitudes and behaviour have most advanced our industry’s cause and reputation.

In 2020 we put the focus on the heroes and heroines who stood up as a global pandemic raged and ensured that airlines flew, that airports remained open, that store environments were safe and hygienic, that shelves were stocked and that customers – though few in number – could still enjoy a memorable shopping experience, even in constrained conditions.

With the assistance and input of our partners at airport companies, airlines, travel retailers, brands, airport promotion agencies and others, we present a pictorial montage of some of those individuals and teams, who represent their peers across the world and in all channels of the business.

We salute them and the many thousands of workers in our business, who ensured that a pulse still beat through aviation and travel retail this year. See www.MoodieDavittReport.com for more stories on these heroes and heroines of 2020 through the remaining days of the year (and send your examples to Martin@MoodieDavittReport.com).
