Interest builds in Summit of the Americas – A Virtual Experience 2021

We set the scene for what promises to be a groundbreaking virtual Summit of the Americas 2021.

Interest is building and exhibitor bookings are coming in for the next major event in the travel retail calendar – the Summit of the Americas – A Virtual Experience, which will be held on 5-9 April 2021.

Special discounted pricing is on offer for ‘Early Bird’ stand bookings confirmed by Friday, 18 December or booked by members of IAADFS and/or ASUTIL.

Visitor registration is also open at the official event website, which is now live. Click on the video on this page for a show preview explaining the experience to exhibitors and visitors.

As reported, the all-digital event is being organised by trade associations International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) and Asociación Sudamericana de Tiendas Libres (ASUTIL) in partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report (which organised the successful Virtual Travel Retail Expo from 12-16 October).

For 2021 only, and due to the COVID-19 crisis, the event replaces the traditional physical Summit which was scheduled to be held in Palm Beach, Florida next April.

For exhibitors there are three tiers of virtual packages from which to choose, offering multiple options to display products, deliver brand and product presentations, offer virtual tours of their facilities and showrooms, and connect with buyers. These spaces will be curated by our Singapore-and London-based Virtual Stand & Experience Partner, FILTR.

In addition to the virtual Exhibition Hub, the 2021 Virtual Summit will feature a Knowledge Hub where attendees can take advantage of relevant, engaging, and informative sessions (agenda and speakers to be announced soon). The Experience Hub will allow suppliers to connect with buyers through a variety of virtual events such as product demonstrations, tastings, and virtual happy hours.

Event sponsorship options are also available through our team.

The Summit is open to airports and all other landlords from travel-related sectors; retailers, food & beverage operators and other commercial service providers; brands, agents & distributors; media; and other relevant parties.

The associations said: “For the 2021 Virtual Summit of the Americas, there is no registration fee for buyers to participate, which removes any barriers to a buyer’s participation in the 2021 event. We have already secured commitments from key buyer companies, and we are also in discussions with other duty free and travel retail-related associations to offer them the opportunity for their buyers to participate, which we expect to further increase buyer participation for our Virtual Summit in April.

IAADFS and ASUTIL added: “Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020, the duty free and travel retail industry has been through an incredibly difficult time. IAADFS and ASUTIL have been working diligently to push for relief for our industry, and we hope that we can count on your support of the 2021 Virtual Summit of the Americas, since revenue from this event contributes to our advocacy efforts on behalf of our members and the industry overall.”
