PRADA SKIN AND PRADA COLOR PART 2
Prada Color: Fashion curated, digitally enhanced
Prada Color, Prada Beauty’s debut colour cosmetics range, is an invitation to explore and experiment with makeup. The brand describes it as “the ultimate self-expression”.
The ‘fashion-curated’ collection takes inspiration from archival looks from Prada’s many runway shows throughout the years. The matte lipstick collections, for example, draw directly from Prada’s first ready-to-wear runway show in 1988, while other products draw from Prada’s extensive fashion archives, which holds over 27,000 textiles and patterns.
Prada Color is tech-augmented and powered by Prada’s exclusive Smart Tech-XTures technology. The technology provides hyper-flexible, blendable, breathable yet durable wear with skincare benefits. The collection brings digitally created colours to life through rich pigments in an experimental spectrum of shades.
It comprises the Prada Monochrome Hyper Matte Durable Weightless Lip Color and Soft Matte Buildable Weightless Lip Color, the Prada Balm Lip Optimizing Care, and the Prada Dimensions Durable Multi-Effect Eyeshadow range.
Prada Monochrome: A tale of two mattes
Prada Monochrome is Prada Beauty’s debut refillable lip colour line. From textiles to textures, Prada Monochrome reinvents the brand’s signature materials – Saffiano leather and Re-Nylon – to offer two different matte lipstick ranges, Hyper Matte and Soft Matte.
Together, the collections comprise 26 refillable shades. The Hyper Matte lipstick delivers intense, one-stroke pigments with a deep matte finish reminiscent of Prada’s signature Saffiano leather material. Meanwhile, the Soft Matte line offers softly diffused colours inspired by Prada’s Re-Nylon fabric.
Prada Monochrome rethinks matte by challenging expectations. While intense and matte on the outside, Micro-Fit Technology allows the lipsticks to glide on seamlessly to provide a long-lasting yet non-drying wear that is weightless. The Bifidus extract and Jojoba oil-infused formula provide visible and durable care over time.
The lipsticks are divided into four colour families: brown, red, pink and orange. They are housed in a refillable system that uses -76% less packaging than traditional lipsticks. The lipstick cases feature a logo stamp and square ring accent for controlled application and anti-roll functions and are available in gold for the Hyper Matte and silver for the Soft Matte collections. In addition, an emblematic Prada triangle logo bullet enables effortless gliding and definition.
Prada Balm is a lip-optimising formula with a universal Prada-Green shade and a natural matte finish. Worn alone or as the optimal primer underneath Prada Monochrome, the balm enhances the natural look of the lips with Bifidus extract and Jojoba oil.
Prada Dimensions: From prints to pigments
The Prada Dimensions eyeshadow collection reconstructs the most memorable prints from the brand’s archives to present six ‘fashion-curated’ eyeshadow palettes. Each palette offers three sophisticated neutrals and a single eccentric accent in four dynamic finishes including satin, soft matte, hyper matte and meta foil. The versatile collection of shades and textures offers endless combinations of ‘easy-to-wear, easy-to-dare’ eye looks with maximal colour expression
Prada Dimensions is created using a low-pressure injection process with Micro-Pixel pigments, which allow one-stroke payoff with greater resolution and colour density compared to traditional eyeshadows. The hybrid eyeshadows, with a creamy-powder finish, blend and layer without falloff, while their skin affinity provides weightless comfort and up to 12-hour durable wear.
The eyeshadows come with a refill system that uses -75% less packaging than traditional eyeshadow counterparts. Each palette is equipped with a mini high-density foam applicator and a mini blending brush with high-density fibres and bevelled edge for versatile, on-the-go use.
Prada Color is complemented by Prada Beauty tools. The versatile tools are designed by Prada makeup artists and fine arts creatives. They are made with faux-fur, advanced synthetic fibres, handcrafted one-by-one to provide high-performance makeup application, sensoriality and durability. They feature brass handles with a laser-engraved Prada logo.
Prada Beauty tools comprise the Foundation Optimizing Brush, Eye Blending Brush, Eye Shaping Brush, Eye Defining Brush and Prada Blender.

London-based makeup artist Lynsey Alexander and Paris-based 3D artist Ines Alpha are the two creatives behind Prada Color.
Alexander is a major collaborator with some of the world’s biggest beauty brands. Alpha’s main body of work consists of the ‘3D Makeup’ series, where she pushes the boundaries of beauty using 3D software and augmented reality. Together, the two ‘phygital’ (physical and digital) artists explore the possibilities of avant-garde makeup.
Their collaboration marks the first time that a major fashion brand has worked with both a physical and digital artist to realise a beauty collection.
The collection incorporates neural networks, machine learning and visualisations to assess a number of skin parameters. It explores the skin’s current issues and delivers tech-based insights and skincare recommendations using Prada Skin’s adaptation-driven formulas.
The Prada Color Explorer is a Virtual Makeup Try-On service that offers the brand’s full catalogue. It offers enhanced customisation in lips and eyes, enabling customers to experiment endlessly with their desired Prada Beauty looks.
These services are led by patented software to offer in-depth visualisations and enable a ‘decoding’ of the skin, unveiling insights into untapped potential.
