Harnessing the power of night
La Prairie unveils Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil
La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil, the inspiration behind Maotik’s Sense of Blue and the Cobalt Night installation at Zurich Airport, is a ground-breaking new skincare innovation that leverages the elusive strength of caviar to deliver unparalleled line-smoothing efficacy.
Caviar has always been a core ingredient for the Swiss prestige luxury house. Marking a new chapter in its legacy of caviar science, La Prairie scientists discovered a rare natural ‘Caviar Retinol’ molecule that delivers unmatched line-smoothing efficacy. The molecule, exclusive to La Prairie, can only be extracted at night through a specially-designed process. The elusive component is made of caviar lipids and caviar-derived retinol. Imbued with Caviar Retinol, Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil effectively reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles at night.
The Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil, infused with Caviar Retinol, was designed to maximise the skin’s natural circadian rhythms. The liquid counteracts the ageing effects of prolonged night-time water loss by creating a temporary oil barrier that retains skin moisture. In addition, the high-powered formula reduces fine lines and wrinkles, visibly smooths the skin’s surface and restores firmness by re-densifying the skin. It has also been infused with La Prairie’s Exclusive Cellular Complex, which marks the very first time that the complex has been incorporated into an oil-based product. The complex was inspired by Dr. Paul Niehan’s pioneering work on skin rejuvenation at Clinique La Prairie. It has been proven to visibly refresh the complexion by giving new life and energy back to the skin.
Minimal and evocative: The power of cobalt blue
The Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil blends form and function and is packaged in a jar designed with the brand’s signature cobalt blue shade. The jar comprises a singular cobalt blue exterior glass case, housing an inner black opaque vessel that protects the liquid from light. The jar’s innovative glass-in-glass construction highlights the minimal, pure lines of the Bauhaus movement, which is another key reference point for La Prairie. Cobalt blue has always been a significant colour for La Prairie, with the brand describing the shade as a symbol of ‘femininity, audacity and strength’.
