Areas’ Urth Caffé at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) offers a compelling blend of attractions. From its inception, it has pioneered the organic coffee industry, becoming not only an immensely popular café in Los Angeles, but also a major player in international environmental work.
From humble beginnings as an organic mail-order coffee company, it is now a brand that is as passionate about coffee as it is our planet, and offers an expansive menu of the finest organic beverages, juices, smoothies and traveller-exclusive blends at one of the world’s busiest airports.
LaTrelle’s was highly commended for its Stumptown Coffee Roasters concept at Portland International Airport. It was recognised for bringing a local institution to the airport environment with a well-curated selection of premium coffees.
Another Areas offering, own brand Farine, currently has three stores located at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, Naples Airport and Santiago de Chile Airport. The urban bakery concept, developed specifically for the travel channel, offers a wide range of products from baked goods or bread, to pizza or sandwiches, to juices, teas and infusions.
Oma Artisan Bakery & Café at Auckland Airport and S34 at DXB, both regional winners, were both victorious in other categories. Full commentaries on their respective offers can be viewed there.
