Enhanced commercial offer lights up expanded Antalya Airport Terminal 2

We present a selection of eye-catching openings, launches and campaigns from across the industry, beginning with the latest developments at fast-growing Antalya International Airport.

The joint venture between TAV Airport and Fraport last month opened the expanded Terminal 2 at Antalya International Airport, with commercial space almost trebling to 33,000sq m.

The expansion marks phase one of a major project to upgrade the airport, which now has annual capacity for 65 million passengers. Antalya Airport served more than 38 million travellers last year, 31.7 million international and 6.6 million domestic.

In food & beverage, T2 highlights include 28 new outlets across 7,500sq m of space. BFA, a partnership between TAV-controlled BTA (60%) and Fraport (40%), has delivered a varied, locally led F&B offer.

The signature location is Taste of Anatolia, a collaboration with renowned Turkish chef Ömür Akkor. Designed to reflect the culinary heritage of Anatolia, its offer represents modern approach to traditional regional recipes, with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, said BFA. The F&B partners also provide F&B in the terminal lounges.

In retail, ATÜ Duty-Free’s signature core-category store and its popular Old Bazaar concept, featuring locally sourced food and souvenirs, are among the anchor locations. Total duty-free space will eventually span around 12,000sq m.

T2 houses three lounges across Comfort, Elite and Premium tiers, with the benefit of a concierge service for duty-free shopping anywhere in the terminal for guests.

A warm Turkish welcome for the first guests to use the terminal

Comment: One of Europe’s fastest-growing airports over the past decade, Antalya International now has a modern terminal and a commercial layout and offer to match its status as the second-busiest hub for international passengers in Türkiye.

The extension lifts retail and dining to “an entirely new level” say TAV Airports and Fraport, while laying the platform for more airlines and routes through extended capacity.

And under their long-term concession, the airport partners are far from finished yet. Following this phase of development and an investment of €850 million, a second phase to build a new all-international terminal will begin in 2038. Once all phases are complete, capacity will reach over 80 million passengers, cementing Antalya’s status as one of the leading Mediterranean gateways.
