The Trinity Forum – Denver Airport
Partnership and progression at Denver International Airport

The Trinity Forum conference sessions concluded with a compelling case study from Denver International Airport, led by Senior Vice President of Concessions Pamela Dechant and Concession Planning International Managing Partner Susan Gray.
They shared insights into the space challenges the airport faces as it prepares to welcome 100 million annual passengers within a few years (from 77.3 million in 2023), alongside the expansion and reconfigurations that are delivering a highly impressive retail and F&B programme.

Key considerations following a deep analysis of space and consumer demand were that food & beverage demanded increased prioritisation; that travel convenience was a proxy for F&B demand due to capacity constraints; that paid lounges were becoming more important and that each concourse required a different approach.
This led to an updated F&B strategy to widen the offer, a more tailored convenience retail offer plus consolidation of speciality retail space into larger, fewer units.

The reimagined concessions programme now features:
- New commercial space in all sub-core areas
- New commercial space in new concourse expansion zones
- Prioritising F&B while delivering more interesting specialty retail
- Retail focus on impulse, convenience, replenishment and gifting with ‘distinctively Denver, Colorado’ sense of place
- Adding new concessions to the pre-security Great Hall.
And much more will follow with development of the Great Hall, North Terminal Processor and in enhanced Passenger Bridge areas.
