Dubai Duty Free honours Diwali in dazzling style
Dubai Duty Free celebrated the Diwali Festival of Light with verve and style this week at Dubai International Airport.
To mark the festivities a ceremonial lighting of a Diwali lamp took place followed by a traditional Indian dance performance.
A special reception was attended by H.E. Satish Kumar Sivan, the Indian Consul General to Dubai, which coincided with the draw for the popular Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise promotions.
Dubai Duty Free Managing Director Ramesh Cidambi and Deputy Managing Director Salah Tahlak led the extended management team in welcoming His Excellency.
As part of its Diwali celebrations, Dubai Duty Free offered travellers the chance to win one of ten Dubai Duty Free 40th Anniversary 10-gram gold bars.
Other highlights include special offers on gold sales, discounts and offers on selected perfume, confectionery and liquor products plus gifts with selected electronic items.

Comment: The India market is a vital one for Dubai Duty Free. Indian shoppers account for 13-14% of its annual sales, led by spirits and confectionery, and the retailer employs nearly 1,000 Indian nationals.
Its investment, alongside brand partners, in Diwali celebrations have been a long-running feature of its airport stores at this time of year.
It also keeps Dubai Duty Free top of mind for Indian travellers amid the competition for their spend between Dubai International and their home airports.
