China Duty Free Group makes statement opening with MCM
China Duty Free Group (CDFG) recently partnered with German luxury brand MCM to open a boutique at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3.
To celebrate the opening, a limited-edition commemorative pendant, inspired by Singapore’s famed Merlion, will be launched in December.
MCM is owned by Sungjoo Group, a South Korean retail business founded by renowned Korean businesswoman and entrepreneur Sung-Joo Kim.

The MCM boutique extends the brand's global airport reach, as well as China Duty Free Group's network
Comment: This is the second luxury store – following a Qeelin jewellery boutique in T1 – to open under CDFG management at Changi Airport this year.
The move underlines the company’s determination to develop its business at the Singaporean gateway, and beyond that at key airports, notably those serving the Chinese traveller.
“Going forward, CDFG will continue to advance its globalisation strategy and strengthen its operational strength in hub airports,” the Chinese travel retailer said, reinforcing its message about expansion after announcing the MCM opening.
“Through brand collaborations, CDFG will further enhance its competitiveness and create more market value in its international retail services.”
