Quintessential Brands embraces multi-category innovation
Quintessential Brands is one of the largest independent spirits suppliers in the UK, with a particular focus on gin, Irish whiskey and liqueurs. Founded in 2011 by former Gruppo Campari CEO Enzo Visone and entrepreneur Warren Scott, the company has made several key acquisitions to expand its portfolio.
Among its early moves was the acquisition of G&J Distillers, a historic distillery that dates to 1761 and is the maker of Greenall’s gin. Quintessential Brands’ gin portfolio also includes Opihr and Bloom, as well as Irish whiskey labels such as The Dublin Liberties, The Dead Rabbit and The Dubliner.

Quintessential Brands focuses on building strong relationships with retailers in travel hubs and border shops
In recent years the company has placed mounting emphasis on travel retail, recognising it as a vital channel for international expansion. It has become Quintessential Brands’ fourth-largest business unit, serving as a key launch platform for product development.
Quintessential recently partnered with Avolta to release a premium ready-to-drink cocktail: Chamère Kir Royal, inspired by the popular television series Emily in Paris. The launch was supported by a series of promotions featuring in-store digital displays and sampling activations.

The company also introduced its ‘Gin Emporium’ concept earlier this year in partnership with Avolta at London Heathrow Airport. Passengers used an interactive flavour questionnaire via an in-store tablet to discover how, when and where they prefer to drink their gin.
In line with the industry’s growing focus on environmental responsibility, Quintessential Brands has integrated greener practices into both production and packaging. The company is reducing its carbon footprint by using recyclable materials and investing in energy-efficient distillation methods.
