Proximo Spirits reaffirms its prestige focus
Proximo Spirits has been progressively enhancing its offer across single malt Irish whiskeys and prestige tequilas, with travel retail a core focus of its growth drive.
Bushmills is a priority brand, with its recently introduced 12 Year Old single malt joining an already extensive range. This latest single malt, finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels, is only available in Asia Pacific travel retail.
This sits alongside the 15 Year Old Bourbon Cask and 21 Year Old Triple wood – madeira finished expressions and completes the range of travel retail-exclusive single malts under the World Wood Series.
A new entrant under The Causeway Collection is the travel retail-exclusive Bushmills 23 Year Old Madeira cask-aged single malt. This was launched in May through Avolta’s World Duty Free stores at Heathrow Airport, and later released to Avolta outlets worldwide.

Bushmills luxury single malts also include 25, 30 and 31 Years Old expressions, while a rare 44 Year Old – with just 40 bottles available, all through Dubai Duty Free – is the oldest Bushmills single malt edition. One was presented by Proximo partner Gulf Beverages in July to recently retired Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman & CEO Colm McLoughlin, honouring one of the great leaders, pioneers and statesmen of the travel retail industry.
Luxury tequila is the other major strand of the Proximo premiumisation strategy. One of the most eye-catching new expressions comes from 1800 Tequila – Guachi Monton – Anejo, which is finished in orange liqueur casks. The striking bottle colour is inspired by the rich red soil of the Tequila valley, where agave grows. It is aged in American and French oak barrels.
Proximo is also focusing heavily on its prestige Dobel tequilas, including Dobel 50 Cristalino – Extra Anejo Tequila – charcoal filtered for crystal clarity and smoothness – and Dobel 50 1.9.6.9 – the limited-edition Extra Anejo Tequila, finished in French Sauternes barrels.
