MacDuff International champions travel retail exclusivity
Glasgow-based MacDuff International has been a key player in the whisky industry since its inception in 1992. Best-known for blending and bottling Scotch whisky, the company manages historical brands such as Islay Mist, Grand Macnish and Lauder’s.
The company is committed to preserving the authenticity and heritage of its brands while focusing on product innovation. MacDuff International Global Brand & Marketing Manager Julie Christie says: “We take pride in being custodians of some of the most respected brands in the Scotch whisky industry.
“MacDuff has embraced the craft sentiment by producing small-batch releases and limited editions that focus on specific cask types and finishes, or distinct flavour profiles. These offerings cater to the craft whisky audience that values exclusivity and artisanal quality.”
The company’s reach extends to over 90 markets across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. It is now looking to expand further into Africa and bolster its presence in the travel retail sector.
Christie said: “Travel retail allows us to showcase limited editions and exclusive products to a global audience. It’s an important channel for growing our brand presence.”
In 2023, the company collaborated with InchDairnie Distillery to introduce a travel retail-exclusive expression: RyeLaw Fife Single Grain Scotch Whisky. Building on its success, MacDuff is introducing Vintage 2 of RyeLaw Fife Single Grain Scotch Whisky.

The channel-exclusive will be showcased at the MacDuff booth (Green Village, K60) during the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.
Additionally, MacDuff appointed a Sustainability Manager in January to coordinate efforts throughout its value chain. Although still in the early stages, the company has begun collecting comprehensive supply chain data to establish practical targets.
