Cincoro chases international expansion
Cincoro Tequila, launched in 2019 by five National Basketball Association team owners, has been making a big push in international markets including travel retail.
The brand, developed by a partnership involving Jeanie Buss (Los Angeles Lakers), Wes Edens (Milwaukee Bucks), Emilia Fazzalari and Wyc Grousbeck (Boston Celtics), and Michael Jordan (Charlotte Hornets and retired NBA superstar), has been developing its distribution base with agreements in Europe, Asia Pacific and other regions outside the US.

Its sports connections run deep, with sponsorship announced recently of the NBC-run American Century Celebrity Golf Championship, plus a deal revealed for Cincoro to become an official partner of Italian football powerhouse AC Milan.
The tequila is crafted using mature 100% Blue Weber agaves, sourced from both the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico. All expressions begin as Cincoro Blanco and are then aged in Tennessee whiskey barrels.

In travel retail, the brand’s ambitions are fuelled by its partnership this year with Duty Free Global for the distribution of its premium tequila expressions in travel retail across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
The collaboration aims to expand Cincoro’s premium portfolio reach, targeting consumers through major airports and duty-free destinations.
The tequila brand’s travel retail offer includes five expressions: Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Gold and Extra Añejo.
