‘Scotland in a glass’ – William Grant & Sons introduces Wildmoor whisky
In April, William Grant & Sons (WGS) launched Wildmoor blended Scotch whisky with seven expressions, ranging from 21 to 40 year olds. The range includes two travel retail exclusives: Waking Forest 23 Year Old and Tropical Coast 30 Year Old.
Wildmoor made its global travel retail debut in April with a high-profile activation at Singapore Changi Airport, in partnership with Lotte Duty Free.
This was followed by animations at London Heathrow Airport with Avolta and at select airport locations in the Asia Pacific region. This includes collaborations with King Power in Thailand; Lagardère Travel Retail and China Duty Free Group in China; and The Shilla Duty Free and Shinsegae Duty Free in South Korea.
The collection pays homage to Scotland’s diverse terrain. It is inspired by the scents of ancient moorlands, rugged coastlines, dense forests, unspoiled mountain ranges and imposing lochs of Scotland.
Crafted under the masterful eye of Master Blender Brian Kinsman, Wildmoor is described as ‘a flavour map of Scotland in a glass’.
Wildmoor Waking Forest 23 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky marries virgin oak with sherry oak, enhancing notes of vanilla. On the other hand, Tropical Coast 30 Year Old is finished in a Caribbean rum cask.
The third expression William Grant & Sons is introducing in travel retail is Wildmoor Black Mountain 40 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky. The spirits company noted: “It is the peak of the range, drawing inspiration from the towering dark mountains of Northern Scotland.”
It features a blend of rare grain, Highland malts and Ghosted Distillery stock, finished in a Pedro Ximenez cask.
