Lagardère Travel Retail posted €6,600 million in managed turnover across its three business lines in 2023, including joint-venture revenues and those from its important travel essentials and food & beverage divisions. Excluding the F&B component (€1,400 million), the figure for retail alone stands at €5,200 million, moving the company up one place to third in our duty free/duty paid rankings.

Encouragingly the momentum continued in the first half of 2024, with revenue climbing by +18% year-on-year (+13.5% like-for-like), with solid performances across the EMEA region and North America, which offset a Mainland China-driven decline in North Asia.

Notable recent contract gains and openings include a landmark expansion in the Middle East at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi; a 12-year deal to manage retail and dining operations at Techo International Airport in Cambodia; a partnership with Plaza Premium Group to elevate the lounge experience in US airports via the Vino Volo wine bar and retail brand (revealed at the recent Airport Food & Beverage + Hospitality Conference in Ontario, California); plus duty free, dining and travel essentials agreements from New Zealand to the USA.
