Hainan Expo’s pulling power

Martin Moodie paid a memorable visit to the third China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo), hosted by Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development (IEDB), in April. The event was strongly supported by leading brand owners and Hainan’s offshore duty free retailers. In this video – one of a series filmed on location – Martin Moodie visits the impressive exhibition space offered by two of the island’s duty free retailers and key brands.

Raising Smiles in Singapore

We present video highlights of The Moodie Davitt Smile Raising Charity Dinner, held in Singapore on 6 May. The event at Hotel Fort Canning raised over US$200,000 in funds and pledges for international cleft charity Smile Train, an outstanding result. Relive some of the evening’s highlights in this video.

TRI-POD series: Meet Garry’ Gadget’ Maxwell

Through 2023 we continued our popular video podcast series series in association with The SEVA Group, with many episodes featuring industry personalities that struck a chord with viewers. In the episode here, our special guest was Garry Maxwell, UK-based owner of GMAX Travel Retail. Garry spoke warmly about his life, career and interests – and about resilience in business, following the launch of his new company in the COVID-scarred year of 2020.

Blending gin and perfumery in Frankfurt

Hendrick’s Gin, owned by William Grant & Sons, teamed up with Gebr. Heinemann, Frankfurt Media and Frankfurt Airport Retail in August to run a playful ‘Hendrick’s Perfumery’ animation in Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 Pier B West. The Moodie Davitt Report’s Hannah Tan-Gillies was on location to visit the first-of-its-kind animation, which saw Hendrick’s create its own bespoke edible scent, ‘Eau de Cucumber’.

How Tumi’s ‘Essentially Beautiful’ campaign stole the limelight

Travel and lifestyle brand Tumi proved a showstopper at Hong Kong International Airport with its Fall 2023 campaign ‘Essentially Beautiful’ in partnership with advertising concessionaire JCDecaux. It included a full domination of the Digital Galleria Arch and wall slots in the arrivals zone.

Shot by Georgia Hudson, the campaign highlighted the brand’s latest 19 Degree Aluminium Luggage Collection. It featured Tumi’s Brand Ambassador, famous South Korean footballer Son Heung Min, who is national team captain and plays in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur.
