Pernod Ricard launches Royal Salute Coronation of King Charles III edition

In April, Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail announced the launch of the Royal Salute Coronation of King Charles III Edition, marking the start of a new era of the British monarchy with an ultra-prestige limited-edition expression. Only 500 bottles (RRP US$25,000) were released globally during this month, including at airports in 20 major markets around the world.

Gucci Beauty introduces Éternité de Beauté foundation collection

The most popular product post in the countdown came from Coty, which extended Gucci Beauty’s makeup offer with a foundation line. Éternité de Beauté is a 24-hour long wear, no-transfer foundation.

The product comes in 40 inclusive shades in four undertone families: cool, neutral, warm and olive. Éternité de Beauté is available in Americas, Asia Pacific and European travel retail.

In May, the retirement of popular Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail Chairman and CEO Mohit Lal was announced, marking the end of a highly distinguished career spanning 37 years in the corporate world.

L’Oréal Vincent Boinay and Emmanuel Goulin appointments

In more major people news in September, L’Oréal Groupe General Manager for Travel Retail Worldwide Vincent Boinay, one of travel retail’s most-respected executives, was named President of the French beauty group’s North Asia Zone and Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal China. The appointment is effective from the end of January 2024.

At the same time it was announced that Emmanuel Goulin, a familiar and highly regarded face in the channel, will take over President of Travel Retail and join the Group’s Executive Committee at the beginning of 2024.

Bacardi marks 161st anniversary by planting a tree for every employee

Our countdown ends with a clear winner – an admirable CSR initiative from Bacardi. The drinks company announced it is planting a tree for each of its employees to mark its 161st anniversary in February.

As “a gift to the planet and its people”, the drinks company said this celebration aims to support biodiversity, help local communities, and capture a combined 2.5M kg of CO2 during the trees’ lifetime.

All Bacardi employees received an anniversary edition bottle of Bacardi Carta Blanca, labelled with a QR code which enabled them to plant their own tree and then track its progress and positive impact through an online platform.
