Travel Retail Highlights II
Royal Salute adds flower power to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail recently partnered with Extime Duty Free (the joint venture between Lagardère Travel Retail and Paris Aéroport) to launch the limited-edition Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The travel retail-exclusive expression is being showcased via a vibrant multi-sensorial pop-up in Terminal 1, following the whisky’s global launch in Seoul, London and Cannes in early October.
The pop-up sees Royal Salute join forces with a luxury macaron house to offer travellers at Paris CDG a memorable gastronomic experience. Travellers can enjoy rose macarons and pair them with the floral, fruity flavours of the limited-edition whisky.
Comment: The expression marks the second year of Pernod Ricard’s collaboration with British fashion designer Richard Quinn, who is known for his bold, colourful floral prints.
At the beginning of October, the company initiated a phased roll-out for the expression across select travel retail stores worldwide.
The move falls under the brand owner’s drive to create surprise and engagement through in-store experiences targeted at travellers, based on its extensive consumer insights (see also page 27).

The travel retail-exclusive expression, co-crafted by Master Blender Sandy Hyslop and British fashion designer Richard Quinn, is being promoted via a vibrant multi-sensorial pop-up at the Extime Duty Free space in Paris CDG Terminal 1
