Travel Retail Highlights 4
Fashion first as ARI launches pre-loved boutique at Montréal Trudeau
Last week represented an important moment for luxury in travel retail and for the ‘circular fashion’ movement in our channel. Aer Rianta International (ARI) opened the LXR pre-loved boutique in The Loop Duty Free at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport. LXR is a vintage, pre-loved luxury retailer that offers authentic designer handbags and accessories. Pre-loved fashion is a reference to high-end, used clothing & accessories. Its offer includes pieces from leading houses including Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Miu Miu, Cartier, Dior and Chloé among others. LXR promotes conscious consumerism and contributes to the circular economy by encouraging customers to buy pre-loved items. It also makes the luxury products more accessible to a wider audience, by offering authenticated products at a more affordable price.
According to ARI, LXR’s conscious luxury ethos aligns with its mission of driving socially ethical and environmentally responsible operations
The new pre-loved boutique is a Canadian-exclusive concept with The Loop Duty Free International Store in Montreal. It is also the first pre-loved luxury concept to launch in North American travel retail, said ARI. The LXR presence also extends to the digital realm, with customers able to shop a curated selection of handbags wallets and scarves on theloopdutyfree.ca ecommerce platform. “Circular Fashion has become an important part of society and we are delighted to be the first airport in Canada to offer a pre-loved range to our customers,” said ARI North America General Manager Jackie McDonagh. “This is a progressive step for our sustainable mission of driving socially ethical and environmentally responsible operations across all aspects of our business, aligned to our recently launched ESG strategy.”
