Lagardère brings
foodie flavour to Daxing
Among the world’s top ten duty free retailers, Lagardère Travel Retail is unique in having a strong multi-national food & beverage operation.
The French powerhouse sees F&B as one of its three main business lines, alongside duty free & luxury and travel essentials, and that focus is certainly seen to the fore at Daxing International.
Of Lagardère Travel Retail’s €4,264 million in 2019 revenues, 22% came from foodservice, behind travel essentials (38%) and duty free & luxury (40%), a share that is growing. In 2015 the company acquired Paradies in the global airport F&B epicentre of the US and has built on that presence by buying fellow North American operator Hojeij Branded Foods.
Lagardère Travel Retail is keen to build its Asian presence too, with China a key focus. Certainly, the company has put its best foot forward at Daxing with an impressively diverse range of food offers and outlet designs. Here we present some of the standouts.
