INTRODUCTION

Of man, nature and time

Welcome to this landmark edition of The Moodie Davitt Spotlight Series eZine.

In this issue we place our spotlight on a remarkable range of single malt Scotch whiskies from the island of Islay off the west coast of Scotland.

For over 240 years, Bowmore has captured the essence and, literally, the spirit of this beautiful place, combining nature’s forces with man’s craftsmanship to create single malt whiskies that have become revered among whisky lovers around the world.

Distinctive ones too. Bowmore single malt whisky is known and celebrated for its swirling medley of aromas and flavours that combine in a balance of smoke, exotic fruit and, of course, sea salt. It’s an enduring marriage that is shaped, nurtured and improved by man and another critical element – time.

This edition focuses on two products with time – and the inherently related concept of timelessness – at their heart. Welcome to the Bowmore Timeless Series, as we capture the story of two new expressions – Bowmore Timeless 31 Year-Old, a global travel retail exclusive and Bowmore Timeless 27 Year-Old.

This publication explores these two launches and talks to Ron Welsh, the Master Blender behind them. It also focuses on a stunning collaboration with independent French film maker and artist Thomas Vanz, examining his extraordinary homage to both the timeless concept and the artistic craft that underpins Bowmore’s whiskies. We trust you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed discovering this remarkable project and telling its tale.
